Dashboards FAQ

Last updated on October 3, 2023

What is the timezone and update cadency for metric calculation?

All metrics are calculated based on UTC timezone in a 60-minute interval. A day runs from midnight to 23:59:59. For example, 2022-2-2 00:00:00 - 2022-2-2 23:59:59. The PostgreSQL data types used are timestamped without timezones and dates. Assume those timestamps are always in the UTC timezone.

When does the dashboard data expire?

Your data never expires. You can save the dashboard as a CSV file directly from the AccelByte Gaming Services (AGS) Admin Portal, or go to Inspect > Download CSV to download the aggregated dashboard data. However, with AccelByte Intelligence Service (AIS), you will be able to access raw event data from anywhere at any time.

Can I request a dashboard if I do not see it in the AGS Admin Portal?

With our free analytics dashboard, you can access a variety of industry-standard metrics, almost without custom instrumentation, to improve your game and track the health of your organization.

[Coming soon] Additionally, we provide you with game progression dashboards that track achievements, rewards, and levels through the respective custom events in your game. See game standard events for details. Upgrade to AIS if you need full customization and ownership of your data.

Where can I find the concurrent players or peak concurrent players metrics?

Hourly Active Users (HAU) and Peak Hourly Active Users (PHAU) are the best metrics to use to estimate concurrent players as they show how many people are actively playing the game at a given hour.

If you have not opted-in with the Presence event, then our HAU and PHAU are likely to be underestimated, as players might not send User Activity events every hour during their gameplay session.

How can I improve the accuracy of user activity count?

You can improve this measurement by turning ON the Presence event.
